Levelator Corrects Volume Levels

Levelator One of the programs mentioned on the MILO Podcast published earlier this week is Levelator.  This program adjusts the audio levels within your podcast or other audio file to compensate for variations from one speaker to the next.  It is cross-platform (OS X, Windows, or Linux), and it's free from The Conversations Network.  Macworld gave version 1.4.0 of this program 4 mice (out of 5), and my co-hosts swear by it.  You can check it out by clicking HERE.

Hi Ben thanks for the tip.

The program says it is for podcasts, which on an iPod are stored in mp3 format.

However, when you run the program, it requires you to drag and drop a .wav or .aiff file on to it. So, when you drag a podcast from iTunes on to Levelator all you get is an "error" message.

I guess one could convert the podcast to a wav or aiff format, then convert the file back again, but this seems to limit its utililty for "run of the mill" podcasts.

Am I missing something?
